Steve has just informed me that a girl in his village was just married recently. Normally this would be a joyous time of celebration but this day was no day of rejoicing as she was only thirteen years old and had an education to the sixth year. Her life now to be a married woman with heavy burdens laid upon her. There will be no more schooling and no more childhood. Now her future will be having babies and climbing the mountain everyday to collect enough food for them to eat.

Her parents saw no hope for her but to marry her off so young. This broke Steve's and Sammy's heart as they try so hard to educate and help these people understand that with God all things are possible. There is a way and a hope in Jesus and He offers this life to everyone who will accept it. Each daughter, son and person is so valued and noticed by God.

Please suppport their hard efforts and all that they do in God. They are making a huge difference every day in these villages.

 

Hope Pre-School

 

The Hope Pre-School Thailand cares for over 20 children.     We provide the children with FREE education, basic health- care, a daily hot lunch, milk and bottled water, love and the special care that all children deserve.

 

The children play, sing “action” songs, learn Thai & English, draw, paint, learn about Jesus, and do all the things you      would expect your kids to do in a “western” Pre-School.

 

We are watching the children grow from shy, fearful, tearful   kids into confident, eager to learn little joys.

 

Parents were initially reluctant to bring their kids to the Pre-School because they did not understand why we would want    to help their kids.  Now they not only bring their kids, but encourage other parents in the village to bring their children.

 

The Pre-School helps parents by preparing their kids for the village Government Primary School.  It also allows the parents  to go into the mountains to collect food without having to carry the little ones with them, thus increasing daily food collections.

 

The village Government Primary School is also rejoicing be-cause it usually takes them half a year to train kids to come,     sit, have lunch, and enjoy an afternoon nap.  We teach them these basic skills and also teach them basic Thai language     skills (their native language is Lahu) so they will have a head start when they get to the “big” school.

 

We need your HELP to keep the Pre-School running!

We now have 20 children and another 20 on the waiting list.   The truth is, our funds are stretched thin and we are just managing on a month to month basis.  We cannot take more  kids until our support/partners increase.

There are 4 ways you can help us in the “day to day”

operation of ''The Hope Pre-School''.

·        You can sponsor a place for a child in the Pre-School.  The cost of providing a position for one child is only  $25 per month. With this donation, you will provide   one child with milk, a hot meal for lunch, basic health care, access to clean water and education in a loving,  Christian environment.

·        You can provide a hot lunch. The cost to provide a     hot lunch for one child for the month is only $10.00.

·        You can provide school milk. The cost to provide  school milk for one child for the month is only $5.00.

·        You can make a Donation to the preschool.

Stephen and Sammy live in this village where they operate the pre-school and care for the village people.

They have one heart and love the Lahu people and their children.

They are opening their children's home in March 2010 for children who have no home and so are looking forward to an exciting year ahead.

The new Home called "Hope Kids Home" is now completed and they are looking for ongoing supporters for the children. How exciting to see these children's lives transformed by education, love and the power of Jesus.
